Usage
To use this Barnstar template, create a new section on the user talkpage of the user you want to give the award to, and add {{subst:The Japan Barnstar of National Merit|1=Put your message here. ~~~~}}
to the talk page of the user to whom you wish to award it.
This award is given by consensus of WikiProject Japan participants and is reserved for those who already have the Barnsensu or Barnstar 2.0 and have done an outstanding job improving and/or expanding Japan-related articles for at least two years. A discussion regarding the presentation of the award to someone should take place on the project talk page. The only things considered in the discussion should be:
- If they have been a part of the project for at least two years or significantly contributed to a large number of Japan-related articles even if they aren't a member of the project, and
- Whether their contributions have significantly improved the content of Japan-related material here on Wikipedia during the time they have been participating.
Please make note of the following:
- Once consensus to award this to an editor has been reached, the person who started the discussion should place the following on the recipient's talk page: {{subst:The Japan Barnstar of National Merit|1=message ~~~~}} (be sure to link to the diff showing the closure of the discussion and the consensus reached)
- After awarding this to an editor, please make an entry on Barnstar of National Merit recipients page.
